YASI™ :: Youth Assessment and Screening Instrument

Introduction

The Youth Assessment and Screening Instrument (YASI™) is an innovative model for assessment of risk, needs and protective factors in youth populations. YASI features measurement of both risk and strengths in juvenile populations in with other high risk youth. Part of YASI’s innovation involves the measurement of protective factors – a feature that helps caseworkers build on the strengths of youth to buffer the negative impact of risk. The YASI provides pre-screening functionality, a major benefit for settings where triage based on risk principles is required. YASI also includes a case planning component that has been designed to help caseworkers identify and monitor the priority targets for behavior change. Web-based software makes YASI results available quickly and efficiently and helps guide users through the development of a case plan. The software provides an attractive visual method for presenting and sharing the assessment results.
